At the beginning of the present academic year attorneys from Yaacov Salomon Lipschutz & Co. resumed their pro-bono activities in the Leo Baeck Hadar elementary school in Haifa. The attorneys provide free lectures to the students in the sixth grade on a variety of legal subjects. This year the pro-bono activities have been increased to include three classes instead of two classes as was the case in the previous academic year. This year the legal interns of the firm are also involved in the pro-bono activities. The subjects that will be taught (using an exciting approach) include, among others, decision making process, the conflicts between the freedom of speech and other rights, discrimination, contract law, environmental law, the right to equal opportunities, children's' rights, torts, the role of the judge and the court. The program includes an educational tour and learning sessions in Haifa's Court House and a visit to the firm's offices in Haifa. The highlight of the pro-bono activities will be a mock trial that will deal with a subject to be chosen by the students.
