Bank Leumi, represented by Adv. Noam Bar-David, a partner in Yaacov Salomon, Lipschütz & Co., recently won a claim against Young Alum and two of its guarantors. The Haifa District Court ordered the defendants to pay the bank a total sum of over 3.5 Million NIS, as well as legal expenses and attorney's fees in the sum of 120,000 NIS. In its decision, which refers to a number of complicated banking issues, the court rejected the defendants' allegations with respect to alleged unlawful conditioning of provision of one service on acceptance of another service, alleged honoring of checks contrary to the signatory rights, alleged pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages due to checks the payment of which was unlawfully refused, as well as the defendants' alleged claims with respect to the unlawful attachment and forced sale of vehicles.
